What is Sacha Inchi?

Sacha Inchi (Plukenetia volubilis) is a unique plant native to the Amazon rainforest of South America, traditionally valued for its nutritious seeds and natural plant compounds. It is also known as Inca Nut, Inca Peanut or Mountain Peanut.  While its seeds are well known for their Omega-3, 6 & 9 fatty acids, protein and vitamin E, Sacha Inchi leaves contain naturally occurring phenolic compounds and flavonoids that have demonstrated antioxidant activity in scientific studies.
